Term 1 - How have survival skills changed through time?

Physical Education (P.E.)

This term in P.E. We have focused on netball and football. In netball, we learnt how to pass, move and shoot and we finished the term with an in-class tournament. In football this term, the focus was on passing, dribbling and movement and this too ended with an in-class tournament. We have enjoyed learning new skills whilst at the same time exercising!

Week commencing 27th September 2021

English

We have been working hard this week, showing great resilience and hard work in order to plan, draft and publish our instructions titled 'How To Wash A Woolly Mammoth'.

Maths

This week in maths we have begun our work on addition and subtraction, utilising our knowledge from our previous learning (place value).

In English this week we have come a step closer to publishing our set of instructions. We have been learning new vocabulary and the features of an instructional text. In groups, we created a set of instructions based on the book 'How To Wash A Woolly Mammoth' and on Friday we incorporated some drama and performed our instructions to the class.

Foxes have been very busy today. We started off our first science lesson of the academic year by applying our observational skills to examine different types of rock. We came up with lots of great descriptions using adjectives and we found that rocks can be both man made and natural. We came to the conclusion that all rocks are different!
