Honey Bees
Welcome to Year 5 - the Honey Bee Class
The Class Teacher is Mrs Hodgson and the Teaching Assistants are Miss Gilliatt and Mrs Wilson. Mrs Duncan will be teaching the class one afternoon a week.
Every class at Wyberton Primary Academy is very special, but this exciting class have an extra 'buzz' as in addition to covering the Year 5 Curriculum, we will also be making the most of Wyberton's apiary and using the bee hives to learn about the life of bees, completing inspections of the hives and exploring why these creatures are so important to our beautiful world.
We have a very exciting year ahead and through our learning we will become artists, explorers, scientists, historians, authors, mathematicians, musicians, athletes, geologists, problem solvers, entrepreneurs, designers...the possibilities are endless!
During the Summer Term, we will be working to answer the question: can 'reaching for the stars' be anything more than the work of an astronaut? This is going to support the children to explore many areas such as their own goals and aspirations, learning about influential people and have the experience of becoming engineers for themselves.
Please follow our Twitter accounts to see our curriculum in action and to receive news and updates: @GHodgson_GO and @WybertonPrimary
As a class, we will be swimming on a Wednesday - please follow the guidance in letters sent home and outdoor P.E. kits will be required on a Thursday.
Each week this term, children will be working in the bee apiary, so please ensure a pair of wellies and a cap is brought into school.
