Letterland Phonics

This week, in our phonics sessions, we will learn more about Peter Puppy (P) and Impy Ink (i). Encourage your child to explore these characters' stories and songs on their Phonics Online account and then access the red-level readers 'Pat, Pat!' and 'Sit'.

Explore pictures: as we deepen the children's skills, we are now trying to develop their ability to hear the target sounds at the beginning of words. Support your child in using the explore picture for each character to listen for the target sound at the beginning of the object names. It is really valuable to also encourage them to put these object names into sentences, e.g., "I can see a pot of pink paint."

White Rose Maths

This week's maths lessons are centred around consolidating the learning we have done this term, so we will be exploring matching shapes, pairing objects and creating patterns. Maybe you could encourage your child to pair up all of your socks or use found objects to create their own patterns.

Creative and Science sessions

This week is all about pumpkins. We will be decorating pumpkins to make them look like Jack 'O' Lanterns, reading pumpkin stories and trying soup. Here are some links to some of the stories we will be accessing this week:
