Letterland Phonics
Please ask your child if they are in Mrs Millar's Phonics group or Mrs Taylor's.
Mrs Taylor's Phonics
Over the next week we are going to be learning about the trigraph igh. Encourage your child to log into their Phonics Online account and explore the 'Meet the Letterlanders' section to find out all about this sound and the story that is going to make it easier to recall for the children.
To support their reading skills please access the Blue Series Reader 4 story Cats at Night.
The decodable sentences for lesson 49 will support this learning - listen to your child read them and then encourage them to write the sentences in that space underneath each one.
Mrs Millar's Phonics
Over the next week we are going to be learning about the consonant blends br, cr, dr, fr, gr, pr and tr. Encourage your child to log into their Phonics Online account and explore the 'Meet the Letterlanders' section to find out all about these blends and the stories that are going to make them easier to recall for the children.
To support their reading skills please access the Red Series Reader 8 story Drip, Drip, Drop.
The decodable sentences for lesson 35 will support this learning - listen to your child read them and then encourage them to write the sentences in that space underneath each one.
Understanding the World
We are going to be travelling in our pirate ship to 'snowy lands' this week. We will learn a little about how the Arctic and the Antarctic are similar or different to Wyberton and we will be trying to paint Arctic/Antarctic animals in the style of Edward Tinga Tinga but only using cool colours (such as blues, purples and greys).
