Maths
This week in Maths we are continuing with addition and subtraction to 20. Below are the lesson resources you will need for the week. Each document will tell you if there is a video in the Resource centre that you will need to support your learning.
English
In English this week we are going to be learning all about postcards. In the story Meerkat mail Sunny sent his family a postcard every time he visited a different place. This week our focus will be on learning what is a postcard and what do we need to include in them. By the end of the unit we will be able to write and send our own postcards.
Phonics
In phonics this week we are looking at the alternative ‘ow’ and ‘oy’ sounds. As a warm up for each phonics lesson use your sounds mat in your learning packs and read through all of the sounds on the sound mat. Do you know them all? You may want to also pick 5-10 words to read from the back of your sound mat each day. By the end of year one your child should be able to read and spell all of the words on the back of your sound mat.
Monday – The ‘ow’ sound as in ‘cow. Watch the video and complete the activity below.
Tuesday – The ‘ou’ sound as in ‘mouse’. Watch the video and complete the activity below. Read the real and nonsense words, how many can you read?
Thursday – The ‘oy’ sound as in ‘boy’ and ‘oi’ sound as in ‘coin’. Watch the video and complete the activity below. Look at the pictures and spell the words.
Friday (10:45-11:15) – Join Miss Hinch over Teams for a live phonics lesson. You will need some pieces of paper and pen that writes large enough to be seen through a camera e.g. felt tip. Miss Hinch will send an email link for you to join the meeting.
Don’t forget you can access all the games and resources on Phonics Play to continue your phonics learning for free.
There is also a spelling game on spelling shed set up for the phonics sounds we are learning this week.
Topic
This week in topic we are going to be looking at Human and Physical Geography. Please use the PowerPoint below that explains the difference between Human and Physical Geography. After having look through the PowerPoint, please use the Human and Physical Geography features sorting activity in your learning packs. You will need to sort the pictures depending on if they are a human feature or a physical feature.
Science
We are continuing our learning about the weather and the seasons with the support of National Oak Academy. Please see the link below for today’s lesson and activity.
Music
We are going to continue our music lessons this term with the support of National Oak Academy. Please see the link below for today’s lesson and activity.
P.E.
Below you will find a PE activity for this week. In addition to this, please see Joe Wicks daily workout.
P.S.H.E.
This week we will be looking at how to stay safe online and what are the risks of using the internet. Take a look at the PowerPoint below which will provide you with the teaching for this lesson and a suggested activity. Remember you don’t have to complete the suggested activities as long as you know the important messages you can just discuss these with an adult.
Spellings
This week’s spellings are below, try spending 5 minutes each day practising your spellings. You can also use spelling shed to help you practise your spellings. On Friday log in to spelling shed and complete week 3 spelling test and send me your scores. Good Luck!
