Wyberton Primary Academy

Honey Bees

Ant and Dec have teamed up with NSPCC to create a special video for children. Please watch their virtual assembly by clicking on the link below:

It has some advice for children who may be worrying about Coronavirus and the impact on their family, as well as other important advice and words of encouragement.

Welcome to the Honey Bee class page

The class teacher is Mrs Hodgson and the main teaching assistant is Mrs Wilson, however at times, Mrs Duncan and Miss Roberts will also be working with the Honey Bee children.

Every class at Wyberton Primary Academy is very special, but this exciting class have an extra 'buzz' as in addition to covering the Year 4 Curriculum, we will also be making the most of Wyberton's apiary and using the bee hives to learn about the life of bees, completing inspections of the hives and exploring why these creatures are so important to our beautiful world.

We have a very exciting year ahead and through our topics will become artists, explorers, scientists, historians, authors, mathematicians, musicians, athletes, geologists, problem solvers, entrepreneurs, designers...the possibilities are endless!

Children will need their indoor P.E. kit in school on a Thursday and their swimming kit on a Wednesday.

Values in Action

The Honey Bee class demonstrated their compassion for others by taking part in a sponsored workout to raise money for Children In Need. As a school we raised over £1,000 which will really make a huge difference to others - well done!

Children’s Mental Health Week

The Honey Been class regularly practise yoga and square breathing, however it was great to promote children’s mental health by dressing for the day in yellow and exploring how we could all “Find Our Brave”.

Safer Internet Day

Knowing how to keep safe online is so important and even though we address this within class weekly, it has been beneficial to spend some time today exploring the questions: Do you know who you are really talking to? and What should I share if I choose to upload?
