Hello Fox Class,

It has been so lovely to catch up with you all over the past week and I am so proud of everything you are doing. You are superstars! Take a look at the Term 3 tab on our class webpage, where you will find photos of your incredible remote learning journey!

This week it is Children’s Mental Health Week and on Monday at 9 am there is a live assembly for Children’s Mental Health Week – you can watch it here: https://www.childrensmentalhealthweek.org.uk/news/children-s-mental-health-week-assembly-with-bafta-kids-and-oak-national-academy/We will be watching this in school, so it would be great for our remote learners to watch this too. For further activities relating to this important topic, please see this week’s P.S.H.E lesson on Wednesday.

Following on from yesterday's live event we will be doing some activities based on the book 'How to Write Poems' by Joseph Coelho, the author from yesterday's live event.

Miss Anstey is looking for some amazing work for her display so make sure you send your work to me!

Look at the reading comprehension ‘Sharks.’ Read the text and then answer the questions on the same document. The answers are in a separate document attached below.

Spellings

This week we are focussing on the spelling rule: Homophones words that have the same pronunciation but different meanings and/or spellings.

See below for the activities that are listed on the timetable above.

You will need to know your Spelling Shed log in details for some of the games. If you can’t quite remember your log in details, send me a message and I will be able to help you 😊

On Friday, watch the video in the  Video Resource Centre labelled spelling test 05.02.2021 and you will be able to do your spelling test with Mrs Davies.

Topic

LO. To compare and contrast areas of vegetation and biomes in two different locations.

We are going to be developing our understanding of biomes and vegetation belts that you can find around the world.

First, watch this video to develop your understanding of the biomes.

Then work through the worksheet, completing the multiple-choice and research-based questions. Remember to use the internet safely.

We will then link this learning with our previous learning about environmental issues.

Science

LO. To investigate the growth of skeletons.

This week’s P.S.H.E lesson is focusing on Children’s Mental Health Week 2021.

Please Watch Mrs Hodgson’s assembly here.

Then take part in some of the activities on the attached PowerPoint about how you can express yourself in different ways. You can choose which ones of these you would like to do 😊-choose the ones that you feel express yourself! You could even come back to these later on in the week to repeat them or try a different one.
