Wyberton Primary Academy

Week commencing 23rd November

Hello Badgers!

We are missing you lots in school and cannot wait to see you again soon. Well done for being stay at home superheroes! You are all stars!

Here is this week's learning.

Maths

In Maths this week, we shall be using the inverse to check the answers to calculations.

Any of the Maths lessons on the Oak Academy link here https://classroom.thenational.academy/units/addition-and-subtraction-ec16 would also be helpful for you to access! These have videos and activities you can do online which link to the learning we have been doing in class over the last week or so.

Maths Resources

English

In English, we are reading 'How to train your dragon' by Cressida Cowell. We are using this as inspiration to write our own stories. This week we are learning to use prepositional phrases to describe where the dragons in the cave are hiding. I have included a grammar activity booklet in the resources below which you could complete to help you with this grammar objective.

Science

In Science, we shall be learning what happens when we add a switch to our circuit. You will need the electrical circuit components to be able to complete this lesson, but you could access this lesson instead https://classroom.thenational.academy/lessons/what-happens-in-a-circuit-when-we-change-the-components-60wp2r

History

We are exploring different historical sources this week to see whether they can change our opinion of the Vikings! See the resources below for this activity.

PE

Get moving with one of Joe Wicks' videos! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PhFmi_OaBG4

We will be learning how to play hockey in school, so you could watch some videos on Youtube of how to play: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X95xGvmIuf4

Art

In Art this week, we shall be painting our clay dragon's eyes and creating our weaved stars for our Christmas cards. Perhaps you could watch this video to learn all about weaving? Maybe you could have a go at weaving using some string or wool? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QW2zwr6txdo
