MFL is taught at Wyberton by the Class Teacher through Rising Stars French, which is a complete curriculum for Years 3-6. Rising Stars French provides a coherent progression of skills and knowledge throughout Key Stage Two, with 24 units across the four year groups. The curriculum provides children with the opportunities to listen, speak and write in French. Lessons are sequenced to provide a build-up of knowledge and vocabulary, with retrieval practise woven into each lesson to ensure consolidation. 

At Wyberton, we understand that languages are an essential part of a broad and balanced curriculum. Languages provide an opportunity to communicate with others, but also to provide a wider view of the world around them. Children learn about French culture and this provides an opportunity to foster curiosity about the wider world.
