Term 5- Why should we preserve our locality?

Welcome back to another exciting term! This term we are learning about our local area and the history of buildings that surround us. Please look at the enquiry mat for the key vocabulary we will be using and the key information that you could discuss with your child.

Our term 5 newsletter is also here to give you more detail about what we are learning this term but also key information about parent events, PE days and what the children need through out the term.

PE

This term the children are learning to participate in Athletics. This is great practise for sports day! The children began with sprinting and practising running in lines.

Maths

The children have been learning about fractions. They have been using bar models to add and subtract fractions and to find fractions of amounts.

Music

This term the Foxes have worked with their specialist music teacher to compose music on instruments. The children have explored beat and created pieces of music focusing on the beat.

Eco Visitors

We have been very lucky to have a visit from Rhubarb Theatre Company and the Wildlife Trust, who performed a thrilling soundless show to music informing the children about rubbish and the impact on our environment.

Maths

We have learnt about money and the children loved role playing going to the shop. They pretended to be customers and shop assistants with the focus of exchanging and calculating the right amount of change.
