Week 3 and 4

Phonics

Over the next 2 weeks we are going to continue taking part in fast track phonics - a quick introduction and review of who all of the Letterland characters are and the sounds their letters make. So far we have covered a-h. We will be starting with i this week and continuing from there. Please support your child with logging into the Phonics Online account and use the 'Meet the Letterlanders' section to help your children to learn about the a-z letters.

Maths

We will be continuing to baseline the children this week - finding out what they already know about numbers and shapes, and then starting our White Rose scheme of learning from next week.

Understanding the World

This week we are going to be exploring leaves. Use the enquiry mat above to help to guided you with some fun activities and discussions to take part in with your child.

Creative Arts

To support our leaf explorations we are going to be encouraging the children to explore rubbing leaves and printing with leaves.

PSED

In our circle time sessions we will continue to explore how we are all different and that this is something to celebrate. We will also be exploring the emotion of worried/scared and how this affects our bodies.

PSED

In our circle time sessions we will continue to explore how we are all different and that this is something to celebrate. We will also be exploring how we can make our memory stronger by playing memory games with collections of matching cards. At home you could hide matching items under cups and challenge your child to turn over just 2 cups to see if they have found a pair.
