Art

Our focus in Art this term is linked to our enquiry question, 'What journey does a raindrop take?'

We shall be studying the painting 'The Great Wave' by Katsushika Hokusai, a Japanese artist famous for the painting below:

We shall be developing our drawing and pencil techniques and then learning how to use light and dark within watercolour painting and mixing colour, shades and tones with increasing confidence.

Our final pieces will be proudly displayed on our Mother's Day cards, which is in a few weeks time.

In this week's lesson, we shall be comparing Hokusai's work to another artist (Turner) who has created coastal landscapes.

Watch the video in the resource centre and then the resources you will need to refer to in this lesson can be found below. The powerpoint from the video is also below in case you would like to refer to it during your lesson.

Don't worry about printing the paintings, you can still make your observations without them.
