Term 1- How much did the Ancient Egyptians achieve?

Welcome back to yet another exciting term of learning. The Year 4 team hope everyone in our Wyberton family have had a fantastic summer holidays. We are all very happy to be back and we can't wait to get to know and work with the children in Year 4. 

 

We endeavour to add as much of our learning as we can to our page to keep you up to date with our learning. However, if you wish to know more, please do not hesitate to ask anyone in the team and we will happily share our learning journey with you. 

 

This term's Enquiry question is 'how much did the Ancient Egyptians achieve?'.

Parent event 

 

It was lovely to welcome families into our classroom to help us with creating our own canonic jars using clay. 

Art

 

This term we have been learning new skills to help us with creating a canonic jar using clay. We are all very proud of our authentic outcomes! 

Science 

 

we have been busy learning about classification keys as part of our learning of living things. We created our own classification keys to classify a leaves found in our school environment. 

History - how much did the Ancient Egyptians achieve? 
 

We kickstarted our learning of the Egyptians by exploring  some pictures of artefacts that were found in Tutankhamun’s tomb. From these artefacts, we found out more about how the Egyptians lived. 

Maths 

 

We have started the academic year with building on our previous place value learning. We have been learning the place value of numbers up to 10,000. 

We have been busy learning about what area is and how we can find the area of a shape using squares.
