Term 2- How have survival skills changed through the ages?
This term we are building on our knowledge of the Stone Age by discovering the developments within the Bronze Age and the Iron Age.
Please look at the enquiry mat for the key vocabulary we will be using and the key information that you could discuss with your child.
Our term 2 newsletter is also here to give you more detail about what we are learning this term but also key information about parent events, PE days and what the children need through out the term.
Diwali Workshop
We had a great start to the term with a Diwali workshop. We learnt about the story of Diwali through song, drama and dance. The children were very engaged and expressive in sharing the knowledge they learnt. The children demonstrated great unity when working in teams on tasks too.
Business and Enterprise
The Foxes have been working through the Wyberton business wheel to create their own class - Santa's Foxes. The children worked in different departments including Marketing, Customer Service, Finance, Research development, Quality and Procurement. Santa's Foxes have decided to make snowman decorations, a hot chocolate bar and guess the name of the Christmas teddy game.
English
We have been inspired by the book 'How to wash a woolly mammoth' but we use dour playground for inspiration to plan our writing of a set of instructions of 'How to teach a woolly mammoth to play at Wyberton.'
Science
This term the children have been learning about forces and magnets. They have investigated how push and pull forces can move objects, how different surfaces can create different amounts of friction to slow or speed objects down and how to poles on magnets work.
