Term 4 - How does your garden grow?
Week 1

This week we have introduced our new topic which is 'How does your garden grow?'. We enjoyed a lovely walk around the school grounds, looking for any plants or flowers that have started to grow ready for spring. We also did a mind map of our current knowledge about growing.
Week 2

This week it was World Book Day and Shrove Tuesday! We all dressed up as our favourite characters and enjoyed sharing a story with year 3. We had a wonderful day sharing our love of reading. We also had some yummy pancakes with lots of different fruit and toppings on Shrove Tuesday! What a busy week!
Week 3

This week we explored and investigated different seeds ready to plant in pots to put in our greenhouse. We also used a fork and our fine motor skills to use paint to create beautiful bright coloured tulips.
Week 4

This week, we have been enjoying some arts and crafts that is linked to our growing topic. We used paint and a pipette to create a beautiful flower using cotton pads. We used lots of bright colours and cut the cotton pad in half to create leaves. We also did some observational drawing of plants and flowers that we have in our classroom.
Week 5

We have had another busy week growing more flowers and enjoying some investigations! We have made some flower pictures using paint and cotton buds this also helped with our fine motor skills. We have enjoyed lots of time outside checking on our green house and making sure they have plenty of water.
Week 6

This week we have made rice krispie cakes for a bake sale! We also got to take one home and eat at home - they were very yummy! We enjoyed mixing and decorating them too. We also have spent a lot of time in the nursery garden in the sunshine growing our plants.
