This term we are developing our Geographical locational knowledge and will be exploring how to navigate world maps using longitude and latitude lines.

English

This term we are learning to write effective structured paragraphs within our non-chronological reports. We are writing them based on the seven continents of the world. The children worked in small groups to research different continents.

Geography

This term our enquiry question is 'Where on Earth are we?' and we have started to learn about our own addresses and how they are structured. The children created their own post cards to send to their families to explain what we are learning this term. We walked to our local post box to send the post cards. 

Parent event

This term's parent event was Science based as the children set up an experiment with their families to take home. We are learning about germination and the children created a bag with a bean in ready to grow at home and to observe the changes of the bean.

Comic Relief

We had a brilliant Comic Relief day at school with our crazy hair. We also had a great time taking part in the fun games in the hall hosted by Year 5. Our highlight of the day was collating our own favourite jokes so we could create the Wyberton Joke Book.

Science

We are learning about the structure of flowers and the purpose of the stem. The children set up an experiment with food colouring in the water to see if we could dye the petals after the dye has transported up the stem to the petals.

English

We have really enjoyed writing our non-chronological reports based on the continents in the world. We had a teams call with the Year 3 class at Little Gonerby to share our writing with them and we thoroughly enjoyed listening to their narratives. They gave us some great tips for our next narrative writing.
