Term 6- How has local farming changed over time?
Welcome back to term 6! We have such an exciting term ahead of us with lots of growing, harvesting and creating for our Boston market stall. As well as all of the amazing new things children will be learning about. We cannot wait to share it with you all!
This term our enquiry question is: How has local farming changed over time? We will be learning all about the brilliant farming changes in our local area and their impact on society.
Please see below our class newsletter and enquiry mat for this term. This will help you to see an overview of the children's learning this term.
PE
This term we have been learning about athletics, we have been working on our balance, and have incorporated this into some games.
Boston Market
This week Kingfishers went on a trip to Boston Market. We sold our produce, drummed up business and handled money. The children really enjoyed the hands on experience.
DT
So far this term in DT, we have been preparing to make our jams and chutneys to sell on our Boston Market stall. Children have recalled knowledge of food hygiene and safety and have learnt about following a recipe.
Art
In art this term, we have learnt all about Lynn Flavell who was inspired by the Spanish markets. We have learnt how to create a clear print and have made our own tea towels to sell at the market.
