This term we are learning all about how and why things grow. We will look at humans, butterflies, animals, fruits and vegetables and plants. 

Week 1 

This week the children looked at the life cycle of a human. They shared pictures of themselves as babies and talked about how they have changed. The children really enjoyed look at each others baby pictures and talking about their changes and how much they have grown!

Week 2

The Very Hungry Caterpillar!

This week the children have been learning about the life cycle of butterflies. To help us understand this, we have read the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar. The children were able to reorder the story, talk about the life cycle of a butterfly and write about it too!

Week 3

This week the children explored the life cycle of a frog. We read the story 'Tad' which followed the journey of a tadpole waiting to change into a frog. The children were able to complete a life cycle of a frog. We then explored life cycles of hens and talked about how their changes were different to frogs. The children were able to complete the life cycle of a hen.
