Term 5- Where does our food come from?
Welcome back to Term 5! We hope you have had a restful Easter break, we have lots of amazing learning to share with you this term. We are doing lots of growing of vegetables and plants and will be sharing the journey of how food develops from a seed to our plates.
Our enquiry question this term is: Where does our food come from?
Please see below, this terms class newsletter which gives you lots of information about the children's learning this term.
Writing
This term in writing we have been exploring shape poems. The children have been expanding their vocabulary to help them describe vegetables. In this lesson, we had a secret vegetable and children had to describe what it felt and its texture.
Geography
In our geography unit this term, we have been looking at where our food comes from. We tried a range of food from across the United Kingdom and explored where the core ingredients came from.
PE
This term we have been looking at how to develop our netball skills. We have identified the skills we need to ensure we are accurate in our throwing and catching.

Safety Day
Today children learnt about how to keep themselves safe in the sun, on the roads, around water and identified who they would call in an emergency. Children worked through a variety of role plays and built on their previous knowledge.

Science
Over this term, we have looked at what plants need to survive. We have identified how plants get water and completed an experiment to see how quickly a flower can change colour through their water.
